Nowhere To Go
Kjelland/Ranney

Once I thought I would go traveling
So I boarded my iron horse
I turned my eyes to the horizon
Sun as my guide I set my course
Then I found myself at the coast
And there was nowhere to go

So I thought I'd put down my roots
This is where I'll make my stand
And I built a house of kindness
Then I found my heart was sand
So I knew I was a gypsy
And there was nowhere to go

Then I thought I might go searching
To the heavens and beyond
When I got there I was startled
That my visions all were gone
Then I knew my hope was fading
When I found nowhere to go

When I sat down and reflected
On the things that I had learned
I began to search inside me
For the answers still unearned
Then I saw the journey's better
When you need nowhere to go
